Charles Temple has announced his candidacy for reelection to the Sevier County Board of Education representing the Fourth Educational School District. This district is compromised of the Sixth, Ninth and part of the Tenth Districts and the voting precincts are located at Seymour Primary School, Seymour Intermediate School, and Dupont Community center.
Temple has been a member of the Sevier County Board of Education since September of 1998. During that time a number of improvements have been made to the infrastructure and grounds at all of the schools in Seymour. These include classroom additions at Seymour Intermediate, Seymour Middle, and Seymour High. In addition, improvements to athletic facilities have been completed. The land for a new elementary school in Boyds Creek has been purchased. This new facility will slow the pressure of ever-increasing student numbers on the K-8 schools in Seymour.
“As I have said many times before, I believe that the community and the schools can work together to continually improve the educational system in our country. As Board Members we constantly look to the future and plan for the continued growth in our communities. Our primary goal is to provide all of the children of Sevier County with the best possible learning environment available. I want to say thank you to the people of the Fourth Educational District for their support and the confidence they have shown in me. It has been a privilege and an honor to serve them and I ask the people to vote for and re-elect me as their School Board Member”.
Temple was born in Sevier County and is a lifelong resident of Seymour. He is married to Donna Wilcox-Temple and they have one daughter, Michelle. The Temples are members of Seymour United Methodist Church.
