Legendary Country Music Artist Kicks Off Theme Park’s 2002 Showcase of Start Concert Series
PIGEON FORGE, TN – Tanya Tucker could easily lie back and just enjoy the results of her career, knowing that she’s proved herself. Instead, she recorded another album, Country Classics. Tucker will perform songs from that album, as well as other hits from her decades long career, during her performances at Dollywood’s Celebrity Theatre on Saturday, June 8.
Tucker’s long list of career highlights begins with the recording of her first hit song, “Delta Dawn,” at age 13. By the age of 15 she had received a Grammy nomination, produced a Greatest Hits package, and was one of the first country artists to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone. Her more than 30 top ten hit records include “What’s Your Mama’s Name,” “San Antonio Stroll,” “It’s a Cowboy Lovin’ Night,” “Can I See You Tonight,” “Just Another Love,” “Down To My Last Tear Drop,” “If Your Heart Ain’t Busy Tonight,” and “Two Sparrows In A Hurricane.” Named the Female Vocalist of the Year by the Country Music Association in 1991, Tucker has also performed in numerous television specials and penned her autobiography, Nickel Dreams, in 1997.
