Former owner Ilona Stinnett says she’s a little sad to be leaving the Heart of Blount Antique Mall, but is looking forward to her retirement and she is sure that new owners Janette Hamby and sister Daphne Quesenberry will do a great job.
“We’re very excited about taking over the antique mall,” said Hamby.
On Sunday, June 29, Stinnett put together a “Thank you” party at the mall to introduce the new owners and thank the customers who have been so faithful to her in the past. “I came into this business with Ilona and gained confidence. So it’s a little scary that she is leaving. She’s like the mother around here, always taking care of everyone,” stated dealer Cheryl Stieveling.
Besides great antiques and collectibles, the mall offered up some great food and music and they even had a visit from the Barney Fife look-a-like along with his squad car.
“It’s been a fun day,” said Stinnett. The new owners plan a Grand Opening some time in August.
The Heart of Blount Antique Mall is located at 2208 E. Broadway in Maryville.
