The Sevier County Fair came to a close this past weekend and according to Sevier County Fair Association President Jack Thurman the event was a success. “We’ll be down some because of Wednesday night raining us out but the nights that we operated it’s been successful and we’ve had a great turnout.”
Noelle Leatherwood, age 11, of Sevierville Middle School gave it her best shot at the watermelon seed spitting contest.
Unfortunately, her seed didn’t go quite far enough. The winner of the event received a $15 prize.
The fair offered an array of fun things for the entire family from displays to rides to some of that great fair food (the elephant ears are my favorite.) Many of the kids enjoyed the petting zoo and the little ones had a chance to pet the animals or give them a snack. The Fair is always a great form of family entertainment.
