Oct. 1 – The apprehension was high last week when notices went out to the Seymour area students that Boyd’s Creek would be resurfaced. It’s no secret that during morning and afternoon school traffic, the congestion is at all time high. With no less than four Sevier County Sheriff’s Deputies working the school traffic, it posed quite a concern when parents found out there would be the added pressure of paving equipment.
Blalock’s Construction began a resurfacing project on Boyd’s Creek Hwy. from the intersection with Chapman Highway down a 6.9-mile stretch to Old Red Lane on Thursday, September 25.
Blalock Construction, which was awarded the bid for the project on July 25 of this year for $404,353.35, has worked hard to make sure that area residents don’t experience undue delays during high-traffic periods.
