Jim McGinley and Kristy Wallen were recently selected as 2003-2004 Teachers of the Year at Seymour High School.
Mr. McGinley has taught school for 33 years, 32 of those years having been served at Seymour High. He has taught Physical Education, Driver Education, Math, Science, Health, Geography and Weight Training. Mr. McGinley was an Assistant Football Coach for 29 years, Wrestling Coach for 25 years, has been sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and also a member of the N.A.S.C.A. Mr. McGinley is also an active member of Valley Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. McGinley and wife Kathy have 3 children, daughter Beth Ann Borne, sons David and Mark McGinley.
Ms. Wallen has been in education for 16 years. She has taught math for 13 of those years. Ms. Wallen taught at Seymour Middle School for 12 years and then became a member of the Seymour High School staff where she has taught math for 4 years. Ms. Wallen is a member of Gamma lota, a Seymour High School Technology Core Team Member, an SHS Leadership and TSIP Committee Member and is also the former SHS Cheer Sponsor.
