Procrastinators yes, but many were able to make it in for the noon deadline to entry their quilts for ‘A Mountain Quiltfest’ to be held in Pigeon Forge March 8th to 12th.
Quilting enthusiasts from around the country converge on Pigeon Forge for this yearly event which just continues to grow. “We had over 120 quilts mailed in for the quilt competition and that doesn’t include the quilts that people are bringing in,” stated City Manager Earlene Teaster.
The 12th Annual ‘A Mountain Quiltfest’ draws an estimated 20,000 visitors each year and welcomes the best quilters and crafters to Eastern Tennessee to compete in the multi-category quilt show. Included in the event are more than 60 instructional sessions and master classes for quilters of all levels.
A Mountain Quiltfest is produced by the city of Pigeon Forge and hosted by the Piecemakers and Sevier Valley Quilters Guilds.
