September ushers in the first days of school, high school and college football and the 24th annual ‘I Love Sevierville’ luncheon sponsored by Sevierville Sunrise Rotary and Sevierville Downtown Association. The joint fund-raiser is scheduled for Friday, September 22nd from 11 am- 1:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Sevier County Courthouse.
The luncheon will be followed by a special appearance from Governor Phil Bredesen (2 pm) and the swearing-in of our newest State Supreme Court Judge Gary Wade.
The Great China Acrobats and other local entertainers will add to the festivities of the day. County Mayor Larry Waters and Sevierville Mayor Bryan Atchley will welcome the crowd in addition to representatives from Sevierville Sunrise Rotary and Sevierville Downtown Association.
County Ritz Restaurant will furnish the box lunch containing a turkey or ham sandwich, chips, pickles, cookie and tea. The $6.00 lunch tickets will be must be purchased in advance; tickets can be purchased in downtown Sevierville at 20/20 Optical, Sevier County Extension Office, Second Thoughts, Sevier County Bank or from any Sunrise Rotarian or Sevierville Downtown Association Member.
The ‘I Love Sevierville Luncheon’ began as a part of the Tennessee Apple Festival, then the Sevierville Downtown Association picked up sponsorship. In 2003, Sevierville Sunrise Rotary Club joined the Downtown Association in sponsoring this popular community event.
Mark Friday, September 22, your calendar to attend the ‘I Love Sevierville’ Luncheon to enjoy food, fun and entertainment. Remember to purchase ‘I Love Sevierville’ Luncheon tickets early…a large crowd is anticipated. Ticket sales close on September 20th. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the 3rd floor Meeting Room in the Sevier County Courthouse.
