PetPhotoContestWinnersRecently, Seymour’s own locally owned and operated coffee house Brewed Awakenings held a Pet Photo Contest to benefit Pets Without Parents. Area residents and coffee shop regulars were invited to submit images of their precious pets posing for the camera. The best three were awarded prizes.

First place went to Rosie, a sweet yellow lab with western flair, submitted by Diana Horenzy. Second place was awarded to Sherry Eudy’s adorable beagle pup, Abby. Third place proved not all beloved pets are furry, as the prize was awarded to a leopard gecko named Lizzie, submitted by Jenny Wlas.

Pets Without Parents is Sevier County’s only no-kill animal shelter, whose mission is to place cats and dogs with loving families and to help educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering pets to aid in controlling the pet population. Promoting humane treatment of animals, Pets Without Parents is located at 1408 Old Newport Hwy in Sevierville. They have a large number of pets available for adoption. Additional information can be found at Facebook/PetsWithoutParents.

For those Seymour pet lovers who missed this photo contest, Brewed Awakenings is planning a new contest for spring of this year. The date has yet to be determined.
