Last Saturday, Knoxville Police Department Officers arrested a man who escaped from jail 15 years ago.
At about 2:15 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at a business in the 900 block of Oak Hill Ave. in Knoxville to investigate an individual who was apparently not who he was claiming to be, reports show.
During the investigation, Officers Jeff Damewood and Patrick Green discovered the male had escaped from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in 2002. According to reports, the suspect, 63-year-old Augustus King was on Oklahoma’s 15 most wanted list.
According to reports, Kind is being held in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a Fugitive from Justice Warrant while he awaits an extradition hearing.
Augustus King was homeless in Knoxville at the time of arrest.
No further information has been revealed to the public at this time.
