A three-month-old baby was killed Friday night after being dangled off a balcony in Knoxville.
At about 8:20 p.m., Knoxville Police Department officers responded to 1100 Lula Powell Dr. after receiving a call that a female, 19-year-old Tierra Patrice Williamson, was holding a three-month-old child, Adrian Prince Howell, Jr., over a third floor balcony threatening to drop the infant, reports show.
According to reports, officers located the injured child inside the apartment upon arrival. The child was transported to UT Medical Center, but died as a result of his injuries. Reports show that there is no evidence that a weapon was involved, and the cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head.
Williamson, who is also the mother of the child, was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment. She has been charged with one count of First Degree Murder, reports show. Once Williamson has been discharged from the hospital, she will be transported to the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility and detained on a $100,000 bond.
