Saturday night saw some incredible storms in Seymour and South Knoxville, full of both strong wind and pelting rainfall.
The winds made a huge impact in the area, cutting power off to a KUB-confirmed 10,460 houses in its system.
A tree fell and landed on the power lines on Seven Islands Rd. around 10 p.m. A tree also fell down on Martin Mill Pike, causing outages and blocked roads, backing up traffic for those traveling.
Although cars were still on the roads, it was advised by news outlets that drivers try staying home during storms as strong as this one due to increased chances of car accidents.
For those who experience power outages during future storms, the best thing to do is call and report it.
Sevier County Electric System can be reached at 774-6300 and KUB can be contacted at 524-2911.
