This Friday, the city of Knoxville will be hosting Christmas in Chilhowee.
The event will take place at the Chilhowee Park and Exposition Center at 3301 East Magnolia Ave. City of Knoxville Special Events describes the celebration as bringing “smiles to young and old,” and “creating a unique experience in one of Knoxville’s oldest historic parks.”
Vine Middle School’s chorus will be on the Chilhowee Park Bandstand to perform during the main event—the lighting of the tree. There will also be a variety of free activities at the event, such as marshmallow roasting, gingerbread house building with the Austin East Culinary Arts Department, train rides for all ages, pictures with Santa Claus, face painting, balloon animals and hay rides. In addition to this, The Muse Knoxville and Home Depot will be hosting an unknown “special activity.”
From Nov. 24 until Jan. 1 the park will also be open for nightly self-guided tours through the drive through display of lights.
