On Thursday, officers with the Knoxville Police Department along with EMS responded to a robbery at about 7:23 p.m.
According to reports, the robbery occurred in the 2500 block of Parkview Dr. in East Knoxville. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a single gun shot wound to his left leg. Reports show that the wound was not life threatening. Occupants inside the residence advised that two black males followed the victim inside then each suspect brandished handguns and demanded money, reports show.
While inside, the victim and one of the male suspects got into a scuffle over the gun and the victim was shot in the left leg before both suspects ran outside and left the area on foot, according to reports.
The suspects were described as black males, both wearing black ski-masks covering their faces. One male had a black winter style jacket and the other male was wearing a green jacket, reports show.
According to reports, the gunshot victim was transported to a nearby local hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.
It is unknown if the suspects were able to steal anything from the residence during this time.
