A longtime Seymour business has reopened in a new location.
Traditions Salon reopened at its new location on Chapman Highway last Wednesday following the closure of its previous location on Boyd’s Creek Highway. The new location sits next to longtime Seymour restaurant Connie’s Kitchen.
For Donna Mitchell, owner of Traditions Salon, the move represents a much needed expansion for what she hopes will be a growing business.
“I wanted to expand now that he (Mitchell’s son) is grown and gone now,” Mitchell said of the move. “I had a couple girls working with me and we just outgrew ourselves.”
Mitchell said the new location offers more than triple the space of her old location, consisting of 1600 square ft. as opposed to the old 500 square ft. space. Traditions Salon operated out of an extension to Mitchell’s Boyd’s Creek home for 17 years before the move yet was originally located on Chapman Highway from 1995 to 2000.
Mitchell hopes to take advantage of the additional space by offering more services on top of the ones she offered at the old locations, including: permanent makeup, manicures and possibly massages and facials in the near future.
Traditions Salon is open Tuesday – Thursday from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
