The City of Sevierville is hiring dispatchers.
The starting salary for this position is $31,578 and the position offers superior fringe benefits, a pension plan, an excellent training program and an accredited agency.
Those applying must be able to treat all people in a professional manner, work effectively with groups and individuals, exercise good judgement under stress and react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
The employee is responsible for emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate services, maintaining emergency reference materials,, maintaining records and reporting.
The employee receives somewhat general instructions for the work to the performed, but specific operating standards and procedures guide most aspects of the work. There are times when independent judgement is necessary.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED and the equivalent of one year of college or specialized vocational training in NCIC. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, have an excellent moral character, be at least 18 years old and a U.S. Citizen.
