Rose Center will be hosting its 9th annual Holiday Open House & Craft Sale next month, and a Seymour artist will be participating.
The historic building has been decked out for the season, and the public is invited to attend several free events during the weekend.
A Craft Sale will be held from 2 – 8 p.m. on Dec. 1 and from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Dec. 2 in Prater Hall and the classroom wing. There will be crafters from all over the East Tennessee area offering handmade gifts and holiday decorations. The selection will include: holiday ornaments, wreaths and centerpieces; crochet, knitting, tatting, quilts, and rugs; jewelry; soaps; candles; original art; baskets; woodworking; stuffed animals, toys and other items for infants and children.
Seymour resident, Melanie Fetterolf will be participating in the event. Melanie is a wonderful artist, and will be offering original watercolors, prints, notecards, framed prints, recycled art, magnets and more.
Dec. 1, from 6 – 8 p.m., the Rose Service Guild will host the annual Holiday Open House and reception for December’s exhibit by The Knoxville Watercolor Society. Live music will be performed throughout the evening by a variety of local performers, including The Rock of Ages Choir and The Sounds of Joy Music Academy.
Rose Center, located at 442 W. Second N. St. in downtown Morristown, is a museum and community cultural center for the Lakeway region, providing classes in music, art and fitness, as well as concerts, rental facilities and free exhibits throughout the year.
