Without a community center, public parks, real infrastructure, or local control, in many ways Seymour seems to have been given the short end of the stick.

And in nearly every other direction, cities like Knoxville, Sevierville, and Maryville have all of these amenities and more. The difference is just this: these areas with amenities are municipalities and Seymour is not.

As an unincorporated area, Seymour is largely at the mercy of county government.

    Joe, check out http://www.movoto.com/blog/top-ten/best-places-in-tennessee/. It lists Seymour as the 18th best place in TN to live, the top listing in Sevier County. I saw an article in the News-Sentinel alerting me to this. Seymour is one of only two (behind Farragut) in Metro Knoxville. This should add fuel to the fire for incorporation.
