Seymour- As part of a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital a local barbeque restaurant took first place in a cooking competition hosted by Sam’s Club and held at Knoxville Center Mall June 8.
John Parton, owner of Parton’s Smokin’ Butz BBQ, said he was thrilled to win first place and to be part of the fundraiser for Children’s Hospital.
“It was great winning,” he said. “We’ve been out here for two full days going at it. To win best overall and place second in the briquette competition shows we did a great job. We took home two trophies and got to help a great cause.”To continue reading, subscribe now!
